Minutes of the DYS Monthly Meeting
September 6, 2000 – Meeting began at 7:44
Attending the meeting were:
Scott James, Chip Moore, Kevin Burge, Jim Russo, Dave Clarkson, Tom Guidi, Sharon McManus, Mike Gilbert, Manny Hatziioannannau, Phil Sullivan, Tom Conway, Janet Gargan, Brian McQuesten,
Meeting attendance was 13 people.
Administration:
There was a review of monthly attendance of board members.
A suggestion was made to cancel the August meeting, and possibly reschedule the September
meeting for next year. August discussions could be done via e-mail.
Our November Annual Meeting will be a short meeting with the majority of the time spent on the election of new officers. A flyer will be distributed to parents requesting their questions and input. Tentatively the meeting is scheduled for Thursday November 9 at 7PM, pending location. Details will follow. COACHES and parents are encouraged to attend!
A Danvers InterSport Committee met last year during the winter months. There is an interest to have it reconvene after Thanksgiving. This is a committee of all the town sports leagues.
A donation for a DYS Family Registration and Size 5 soccer balls will be given to the DHS Band Silent Auction.
There will be two DYS nights – one game for girls and one for boys to attend a Danvers High School Game. Details to follow directly to coaches.
Registrar’s report:
There are a number of children signing up now, especially at the U-6 level. Some problems were found with the on-line registration as well.
ALL COACHES: Please be sure that Tom Conway has your birth date! It is required in order to coach for DYS.
Treasurer’s Report:
August Treasurer’s report reviewed but no vote was taken (not enough board members in attendance).
VP of Administration Report:
U- 6 Soccer will start Saturday September 9th at the High School. Boys start at 8:00 AM, Girls at 8:30 AM.
Coach’s courses will be held again late February/Early March. A large number of coaches attended classes for licenses this fall. Congratulations to all who participated!!

VP of Operations Report:
Field Development:
GATES – Benches are in and water bubbler to be completed soon.
SMITH – Field 1 is open for practices but will wait until Spring for games.
Fall Intramural Schedules should be on the Web Site by the start of the season.
On September 7, DYS will attend the UNVEILING CEREMONY at the Senior Center as a donor.
Dave Clarkson will represent DYS.
PATCHES – 3 new designs for DYS Standard patches will be requested by Larry Pickering for use in tournaments.
No Dog signs will be placed at Gates, Smith, Riverside and Plains fields. Due to safety concerns, no dogs will be allowed on the field during DYS soccer games.
COACHES, Please Note:
No Practices at the YMCA until after 5PM due to the YMCA After School Program.
