Minutes of the Danvers Youth Soccer Sept. Board Meeting

Attending:  Neal Hovey, David Tye, Jeff MacInnis, David Kamens, Jeff Chambers, Tom McNulty, Rob Lebel, Brian Harrison, Maureen Merritt, Bruce Ocko, Kelly Pszani, Bob Gilmore, Glenn Douglass, Steve Kucker, Dave Thompson, Loren Rocker, Sharon Pollock, Brett Amico.

 

13 people attended the meeting.

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:39 pm

 

President’s report

 

Described new fields at Essex Aggie and work at Gates Field.  Parents should use only the upper parking lot at the Aggie. We also have storage at the Aggie. Fields at Aggie are listed as fields 5 and 6 on the ECYSA website. Everyone should stay away from any animals at the Aggie. Rock wall should not be played on. Behind the far end goals is a fence, children should not chase balls that go over the fence.

 

ECYSA is having Revs night on 9/23. 30% discount on tickets. Go to ecysa.org for more information.

 

AGM is third Thursday in November. Six officer positions are at two-year term limit.

 

Secretary’s Report

 

June and August minutes accepted. Send any dates you wish published to Secretary and he will post them on the online calendar.

 

Treasurer’s Report

 

August activity reported and DIT activity reported.  President noted the importance of the DIT to the operation of Danvers Youth Soccer. Motion made to accept Treasurer’s report. Unanimously accepted.

 

Registrar’s Report

 

717 registered players for the Fall, down about 60 players from last Fall. Anticipate about 20 signups for U6s and new registrations coming in every day. Over 100 late registrations, which is an ongoing problem that needs to be addressed.  Probably a task force needs to be organized to address this problem. Jeff MacInnis will be in charge of this, Dave Thompson, Steve Kucker volunteered to help.

 

VP Admin Report

 

All coaches have received teams. There was no need to recruit coaches this year, including in U7 program. Coaching clinic will be held after U6 program, check website for details.

 

VP Ops Report

 

All equipment has been handed out. Still have some coaches kits leftover. Intramural schedules are out. Ordering new goal bags for Gates Field. Ops committee members are needed to help out.  Fields will be lined on Thursday for opening weekend.  Signs are being made for Essex Aggie. New nets are installed at Aggie.  High School Varsity will be using Gates 2 Field from 4:00-6:00 on Sunday. Every coach should get a coach’s kit donated by Dick’s Sporting Goods.  

 

Travel Director’s Report

 

Peabody and Swampscott will not be playing Sept. 23. Follow regular reschedule from ECYSA handbook. 30 to 40 referees short this Fall, so patience needs to be shown to the refs. ECYSA AGM November 15 at MASCO High School.

 

Committee Reports – Danvers Invitational

 

No report.

 

Intramural Tournament Committee

 

Andrea Costa is the new ITC chairperson.

 

Fall Tournament

 

Max of 40 teams in tournament. Each team will play 3 games in one day. 

 

Pictures

 

Maureen Merritt. Sat. Sept. 30 Travel Pictures and U6, Intramural  Sun. Oct 1st. . All pictures to be held at Plains Park except U6 will be at the HS.

 

Social

Dance will be held at Friday Nov. 3 at Jimmy’s Allenhurst. Reception at 6:00 pm, dinner at 7:00. Ticket cost is $25.

 

Scholarship

New Business

 

Donation request for Langley family approved.

 

Motion made to approve up to 2K to purchase new nets at the Aggie. Motion approved.
