1) Secretary’s Report:
No minutes to report as no summer meeting

2) Treasurer’s Report:
DYS monthly activity, 2003 DIT final and DYS Y-T-D cash reports presented and accepted as written.

3) Registrar’s Report:
DYS has 150 U-14’s (9 teams), 156 U-12’s (9 teams), 211 U-10’s (18 teams), 106 U-8’s (12 teams), 103 U-7’s (14 teams) and 68 U6’s. Fundamentals all set for Saturday, have 1 person for set-up and 1 person for take down.

4) Administration:
Coordinators for each age group were in charge of their own coaches meeting. Things seemed to work out ok, but there were some key points missed doing it this way. U-6 program all set to go, Mass Premier to work with it again this year. U-7 teams are form but still in need of a couple of coaches, U-8’s and U-10’s are now all set. There is a coaches clinic set for September 13th, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM at the JV field primarily for U7-8 coaches. More clinics may be planned. One U-7 player will move up and play U-8 due to his size. Waiting to hear from Topsfield on the status of their coaches being registered with MYSA or not. The U-10 match-ups are more even then last spring, Danvers teams should play each other at least once with a few Topsfield games. Looking into new coaches/kid safe forms from MYSA.

5) Operations:
Gates parking lot has been graded, all fields that games are played on are set-up with goals and nets and will be lined before start. Board approved the purchase of new full-sided frames and nets for Gates out of capital expense. The old ones will replace the broken set at John George.

6) Touchline:
Touchline will be sent out in the spring, a DYS calendar will be sent in the fall. Tom Guidi will handle both. Will look into a informative handbook to be passed out at registrations. Any calendar dates need to get to Tom ASAP.

7) Pictures:
Captive Images all set for September 13th & 14th at Plains Park with the exception of U-7 Boys who will be done at Riverside. All coaches have the information.

8) ITC:
Fall registrations were down to 68 players. All teams were made up following DYS written policy. New registrations dates and forms for spring play will be announced via web site and flyers.

9) Travel:
18 travel teams have been formed and are all set for opening day. No games on Sept. 27th. Could still place a few U-12 Boys along with a few U-14 players.

10) Dance:
DYS Dance will be held on October 25, 2003 at the Sheraton Tara in Danvers. 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM will be Cocktail Hour, Dinner at 7:30 PM. Dancing to Roundabout. $25.00 per person. Contact Janet Gargan - 978-609-3843 ; Clair Conway - 978-774-7209 or Johanna Armstrong - 978-774-5393 for more information.

11) DIT
One request has come in already for 2004. At the final recap meeting of DIT directors it was decided that a different sportsmanship award system will be used in 2004. Instead of 1 team from each group, we will give each coach medals. At the end of each of their guaranteed games the coach will award 1 player from the opposing team a sportsmanship medal.

12) New Business:
The purchase of a copier was discussed and decided that it would not be cost effective at this point of time.
Field expansion and improvement was brought up. It would be possible for DYS to develop more soccer fields in town and improve the fields at Gates. Will look into working something out with the town so that DYS would have exclusive rights to them. A committee was formed to look into it.
A donation of $150.00 was approved in the memory of an old DYS friend and supporter, Mr. Almeida.
This year DYS will chose spring schedules, try-out dates etc. at the start of the year and will pass our dates out to the other leagues in town to work around us instead of the other way around.
A new equipment policy will be put into effect at the end of the season. All equipment will be turned in, bags replenished and passed back out to coaches at the start of the next season.
A suggestion that DYS only plays in intramural U-10’s in the fall and put U-10’s in travel for spring was brought to the boards attention. More information on how well this really works is needed before any kind of decision can be made.
DYS nights at the high school to watch our Danvers Falcon soccer teams played was approved for 1 boys game and 1 girls game. Dates to be announced.

Meeting ended at 10:30 PM
Next meeting September 24, 2003 @ 8:00 PM at Maple Street Church
