What is DYS Registration? Why is it so early? Why only once? What
does the registration fee cover?
What is DYS Registration? And Why is it so early?
The Danvers Youth Soccer registration occurs every spring. The interesting
part of that statement is that spring registration is for soccer
sign up for the Fall of the current year and Spring of the following
year. The organization opens registration during the April/May timeframe
mostly so that the travel soccer teams can conduct evaluations for
team placement in May. This also allows for the directors to start
ratings from the current season which initiates the processs of team
formation for the intramural programs (U7 through U10 for Danvers).
DYS occasionally opens the spring registration to encourage new players
to join for the spring season (recent spring event from February
to March).
Why only once?
Danver Youth Soccer conducts registration through a web-site
called SportsPilot. This system enables us to track players,
their information,
form teams and communicate through on-line channels. A registration
period runs from April through July for most age groups and from
October/December for older age groups as they only play Spring
soccer. We hold registration for DYS once per year to be more
green in paper
trails and on-ine transactions. What does the registration fee cover?
Each player is charged a registration fee to cover registration
to Mass Youth Soccer Association, referee charges, field preparation,
and organizational costs. This is a non-profit organization with
the goal of attracting the youth of Danvers to play soccer.
