Want To Be A USSF Certified Referee?
If you are interested in becoming a USSF
certified soccer referee, please visit the Massachusetts
State Referee Committee Website.
All courses will be posted here, and registrations
must be done here. You have to create a log-in to sign-up. You
can take the course anywhere; it doesn't have to be in Danvers
or Essex County.
Read below for a description
of which course is appropriate:
Grade 9- Entry
Level- must be at least 12 years of age before season starts,
attend an 8-hour certification course and pass a written test.
Grade 9 can ref "recreational" games, like our intramurals,
ECYSA U10's, etc. They can also be assistant refs on U12-U14
games although ECYSA does not presently use them for that.
Grade 8- Recommended
for adults- must be at least 16 years of age, or have your years
of experience as a Grade 9 plus your age equal 16 or more (i.e.,
age 14 plus 2 years experience as a certified Grade 9) before
season starts. You must attend 16 hours of course work (8 hours
for current Grade 9’s “bridging” to Grade 8)
and pass a 100 question written test. Grade 8 can do any youth
game from intramurals through U19.
