Minutes of the DYS Monthly Meeting
October 3, 2001 – Meeting began at 7:44
Attending the meeting were:
Kevin Burge, Tom Conway, Janet Gargan, Bob Trudeau, Larry Davis, Jeff Chambers, Mike Gilbert, Tom Guidi, Al DeBenedictis, Bob Gabel, Phil Sullivan, Chip Moore, David Tye, Ernie Dion, Steve Gargan,Brett Amico, Carmen Pope, Rob Read, Ellen Chambers, Reno Vitolo, John Barrows, Jim Russo, Roland Belanger and M.George (BullDogs).

Secretary Report
The September minutes were approved.
The DYS HOTLINE : DYS now has a phone hotline where you can find out if games are cancelled or leave a message for anyone on the board. The number is : 978 739-9575. The hotline currently has the following mailboxes:

Treasurer’s Report:
The September Treasurer report was approved.
Registrar’s report:
Currently there are 966 players registered in DYS. There were 170 late registrations this fall.
Travel report:
No Report. The fall ECYSA season is in progress.
VP of Operations Report:
Reminder : It is the responsibility of the Intramural home coaches to put up and take down the nets each Sunday. The home teams for the first game of the day is responsible for picking and putting up the nets. The home team of the last game of the day, takes the nets down and returns the nets to the place of keeping.
At Gates, the travel coach of the last game of the day must put the corner flags into the shed and lock the shed and field. Also, there is a set of penies in the shed.
****** TRASH POLICY *******
There is a CARRY-IN, CARRY-OUT Trash Policy at all DYS Fields. It is the responsibility of coaches and parents to keep our fields clean.
VP of Administration Report:
Intramural program went off okay.
U10 Boys are playing 6 v. 6 while the Girls are playing 7 v. 7.
A discussion on the DYS Philosophy of Intramurals was held
Reminder : Equal Playing Time in Intramurals IS the Philosophy of DYS !!!
4. The November Annual Meeting will be held November 15th. There are 3 Officer positions open : VP Admin, VP Operations and Secretary
Dance Committee
The dance will be held Friday November 16th @ Danversport Yacht Club. Information and tickets will be available soon.
The Touchline
The Fall edition of the Touchline should be out to all DYS families soon. This Fall edition is currently posted on the website.
First Aid Committee :Neal Hovey has volunteered to run a CPR course for DYS, possible classes could be held in February 2002
DYS Night at Danvers High game versus Salem 10/10. DYS will pay $500 to buy the gate and DYS players will be admitted free. Also, 10/11 is DYS night at Salem State
New Business:
A discussion on the future format of the U7 program was held. Various board members to research aspects of U7 and this will be discussed again over the next few board meetings.
The November Annual General Meeting will be held November 15th. There are 3 Officer positions open : VP Admin, VP Operations and Secretary
Vote passed to contribute money to the U12 Girls State champions - the Danvers Destiny
Vote passed to contribute to Thorpe School Raffle two DYS registration fees.
The Soccer Booster Comedy Night will be held October 14th @ Prince Pizza in Saugus. Cost is $20 per person and the time is 6:30 PM. Tickets can be purchased through Claire Conway or at the door.
