President's Report

BJ’s/Uniroyal gift certificates distributed to U6 players and all intramural players. Had some problems initially with a lack of balls at BJs, not sure whether it was later corrected. Citizens Savings Bank then donated 75 soccer balls which were distributed to U6 players.

Mass Youth Soccer meeting was attended by the President. MassYouth did not appear to have a strong plan with regard to field development. $7,000,000 was voted in to build fields in Lancaster, including a per player fee increase of $3 starting in the 2006-2007 season.  There is a 10 year plan to build the fields.

Danvers Rec seminar on “Raising the Student Athlete” will be held at the Senior Center on 11/3/05. DYS will donate $50 to support the event.

ECYSA has solicited town opinions about holding mid-week games in the Spring Season. Does DYS favor it and can we make fields available? DYS can get the permits, but the consensus is that DYS opposes midweek games, largely because of player conflicts with other sports.

U12 program proposed change to 8v8. MTOC will offer both 8v8 and 11v11 next May. DYS may support U12 8v8 in Fall 2006, final decision not yet made.

MLS Camps wants to set up a meeting with DYS. D. Kamens will be meeting with MPS for Spring Clinics on Friday., probably will stay with them.

Treasurer’s Report

Danvers Bank will no support 2 signature verification on checks of less than $25K. DYS will internally continue the 2 signature policy for checks > $500.

Intramural games mostly competitive this Fall. Did not have a lot of issues with one-sided games.

Planning to have a jamboree in the Spring (Summer Blitz).

It has been mentioned to the VP Admin that referees have not been getting the word on field closings. Need to stay on top of this.

VP Ops Report

Parents and coaches need to remember that referee no-shows are not always the fault of the referee coordinator (J. Morin).

We moved a game last weekend to provide space for a DYS game that was displaced from the High School stadium.

The port-a-pottie at Gates was turned over.
