Annual General Meeting &
November Monthly Board Meeting

DYS Annual General Meeting
This month both the Annual General Meeting and the November Board Meeting were held on the same day. The annual meeting was held first and then the board meeting was held. Newly elected officers became official after the November board meeting.
Tom Conway opened the annual meeting by greeting all who attended and then by introducing the current 2001 DYS officers. Tom briefly mentioned the 2000-2001 highlights with specific mention to the progress in with the Intramural Tournament Committee (ITC), the newly formed Player Development Committee and the Danvers Invitational Tournament.
Tom then gave an overview of the voting process: 1) the voting of officers and directors and then 2) the voting of the corporate members. This year there were three officer positions to be filled: VP Administration (Jeff Chambers voted in); VP Operations (Larry Davis voted in); and Secretary (Dave Tye voted in). Of the six directors for 2002, there is one new director - Steve Gargan. Congratulations to all.

Secretary Report
The October minutes were approved.
Treasurers Report:
The October Treasurer report was approved.
Registrars report:
Registration letters to all U16/U18 players are to be mailed the week of November 19th. Anyone interested in coaching a U16/U18 team should notify Ed Wisniewski, Travel Director.
Travel report:
Attention all travel coaches: All players and coaches cards are to be returned after the fall season. They should be returned to Ed Wisniewski as soon as possible.
Refund from Essex County received. This covers a refund from Spring U18 where they only played a 6-week rather than 8 week season and a refund on the volunteer fee for ECYSA playoffs due to the use of Gates Field.
During the week of December 10th, there will be a travel committee meeting to choose U16/U18 teams.
There will be a full-sided referee course offered this winter. If interested, contact Jeff Chambers.
DYS' own Jeff Chambers was elected Secretary of Essex County!
VP of Operations Report:

Dance Committee
The dance was to be held Friday November 16th @ Danversport Yacht Club.
The Touchline
The Fall edition of the Touchline was mailed to all DYS families and is currently posted on the website. This is a good place to go to keep up with DYS.
U7 Format will be discussed at the December meeting. A discussion on the future format of the U7 program was held started at the October meeting. Various board members to research aspects of U7 and this will be discussed again in December.
First Aid Committee: Neal Hovey has volunteered to run an American Heart Association course for DYS, possible classes could be held in February 2002. This will be an 8 hour course over two nights with 6-hours of CPR and 2 hours of first aid. The cost will be $25 to cover the textbook. More information will be coming soon.
New Business:
A discussion on the U10 Competitiveness was held. This will be looked at over the winter months.
