Minutes of the DYS Monthly Meeting
May 3, 2000 – Meeting began at 8:03
Attending the meeting were:
Janet Gargan, Frank Pellino, Bob Trudeau, Dave Clarkson, Ernie Dion, Al DeBenedictis, Mike Gilbert, Tom Guidi, Kevin Burge, Tom Conway, Archie Archambault, Phil Sullivan, Scott James, Larry Pickering, Mark Dabrieo, Jim Russo, Steve Gargan and Larry Davis.
Meeting attendance was 18 people.
Secretary’s Report:
Motion to approve the April minutes as written, unanimously approved.
Effective May 5th, the www.danversyouthsoccer.org address will be directed to the MYSA hosted site by Zvia (www.baystaters.org). This will be transparent to users of the DYS site unless the geocities url had been bookmarked before. Please be sure to update bookmarks after May 5th. This change was made to accommodate online registration. See the information under the Registrar's Report.
Help us reduce the cost of sending the minutes by U.S. Mail. Please send your email address to DYS@THEGLOBE.com to receive the minutes electronically. Also, the minutes are kept on the DYS website, www.danversyouthsoccer.org.
Registrar’s report:
Registration for the 2000-2001 season:
Travel May 11 and June 1
Intramural June 13 and June 15
All four days will be held in the High School Library from 6:30 - 8:00 PM. (Note: the library is now being used to accommodate online registration).
Starting with the May 11th registration, DYS will be going to an "online registration" process. The process will be shown at the registration times. Payments will not be electronic. Once the information is entered there will be no need to re-enter information at subsequent registrations unless there are changes.
Treasurer’s Report and Budget:
Motion to approve the April Treasurer’s report as presented, unanimously approved
The Touchline:
The Touchline was mailed to all homes during April and is posted on the website. A great job by Tom Guidi !!!
Administration Report:
The Spring season is off and running ! The Intramural program for U07,U08 and U10 started Sunday April 16th.
The U06 Instructional program started Saturday April 15 at the High School. Boys run 8:00-9:00 and girls 8:30-9:30. The staggered hours worked well, there was good parent participation and the Bulldogs and Renegades involvement was well accepted.
Operations Report:
Field permits for the regular season and DIT2000 have been attained.
Fields : Due to the heavy rain during the week prior to the weekend of 4/30, some games had to be cancelled due to field conditions.
Please return all equipment (goals, flags, scrimmage vests) used in Saturday or Sunday games to the respective places.
Travel Report:
Please return all equipment (flags/ scrimmage vests) used by travel to Tom Conway's.

Danvers Invitational Tournament:
Next DIT meeting is May 10 at Stop and Shop 7:30 PM. ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND. The committee is now entering CRUNCH time !
There are quite a few new teams/coaches participating this year. The scheduling and field assignments are in progress.
The tournament book is nearly complete. Sponsors this year include : Eaton Corporation, Danvers Savings Bank, Bell Atlantic Yellow Pages and Glama Furs.
Volunteers for the weekend are needed. If interested send a note to DYS@theglobe.com.
