May Monthly Board Meeting
May 1, 2002 – Meeting began at 7:40
Attending the meeting were:
Tom Conway, Janet Gargan, Larry Davis, Jeff Chambers, Mike Gilbert, Tom Guidi, Bob Gabel, Phil Sullivan, Chip Moore, David Tye, Ernie Dion, Steve Gargan, Neil Hovey, Bruce Ocko, Jackie Hutchinson,
John Barrows, Dave Clarkson.
Meeting attended by 17 people.
Secretary Report
The April minutes were approved.
Treasurer’s Report:
Tournament activity was reported.
April activity was reported.
Treasurer’s report was accepted.
Registrar’s report:
Still receiving a few late registrations for intramurals. These kids will be allowed to play, but will still need to pay the entire registration fee, as DYS has no mechanism for pro-rating fees.
Travel report:
The rainouts from Sunday April 28 will be made up, schedule TBD.
Roster changes frozen 9:00 pm May 1.
Travel meeting Wed. May 15, 8:00 pm Stop’n’Shop. Focus will be prep for tryouts.
VP of Operations Report:
A set of new practice pinneys have been ordered.
VP of Administration Report:
First week of intramural score reporting was good with most game scores reported. Second week fell of significantly with only about 20% of game scores reported. There were only minor issues reported as regards playing time and balanced games.
Invitational Tournament Committee
Next meeting May 7, 7:30 p.m. at the Danvers Stop’n’Shop.
Intramural Tournament Committee (ITC)
The mail-in registration will be eliminated. Instead, several walk-in registrations will be held at which registrees will receive a receipt. The dates for the walk-in registrations are: June 4, 6, 11, 6:30 – 8:00 PM at the HS Cafeteria.
Player Development Committee
Format of the coaches clinics being reevaluated because attendance has been a problem.

New Business:
Ed Wisniewski stepping down as travel director because of other commitments. Motion made to appoint Janet Gargan as acting travel director, Ed Wisniewski to associate corporate, Phil Sullivan to corporate, Ernie Dion to director, and Bob Gabel to director. Motion accepted.
