Meeting was held to discuss possible rule changes for the upcoming intramural season. The results of the meeting were:

The "pinney rule" as proposed by Meiron George last fall will be adopted for a trial run. The last goal-scorer for each team must wear a pinney, and cannot score again until another player on his team has scored, when that goal-scorer takes the pinney.

U10 rules will be modified to be consistent with Essex County rules.

A score-reporting system will be set-up to monitor the competitiveness of games.

The league will have a larger presence at the U10 sites to monitor compliance with DYS policy, especially the equal-playing time policy.

Additional literature will be distributed at the coach’s meeting, including sample roster rotations and a more detailed explanation of the equal-playing time policy.

For Fall 2002, the U7 program will be modified to include an age-group wide training session with professional coaches each Sunday (as in the U6 program), followed by a game. The intent is to provide more of a transitional time for incoming U7 coaches between fundamentals and U8 soccer.

Jeff Chambers is investigating holding some coaches clinics in the Spring with the Boston Bulldogs.

Intramural Tournament Committee

Discussion was held as to whether changes need to be made to avoid the hubbub that occurred over Spring tournament teams. Suggestion was made to publish list of registered players (possibly on web) and to make the ITC policy more visible.
