Minutes of the DYS Monthly Meeting
March 7, 2001 Meeting began at 7:42
Attending the meeting were:
Chip Moore, Kevin Burge, Dave Clarkson, Tom Conway, Janet Gargan, Sharon McManus, Bob Trudeau, Larry Davis, Jeff Chambers, Ernie Dion, Mike Gilbert, Phil Sullivan, David Tye, Frank Pellino, Dick Crotts, Tom Guidi, Scott James, Kim Butcher, Steve Gargan, Mark Dabrieo, and Jerry Morin.
Meeting attended by 21 people.
A Thank You Note was received from Riverside School.
Request from Project Graduation for $150. Donation motion made and approved.
Secretary Report
The February minutes were approved.

The February Treasurers report reviewed and approved.
Registrars report:
Mike Gilbert attended the Danvers Recreation Dept. SPORTS DAY held at the Highschool on
February 16th and answered a number of questions and had two sign ups. There
have been 12 additional registrations since this event.
Mike will be adjusting intramural rosters based on the number of returning spring players
over the next few weeks.
Intramural Coaches: PLEASE call your players to ensure they are playing in the spring. Results should be reported to the age coordinators who will get back to Mike Gilbert.
Travel report:
June 14 and 15 are targeted for Travel TryOuts.
Bob Trudeau presented information about the current situation with MYSA. A DYS representative will attend the MYSA meeting in March and will advise outcome of possible MYSA fee increase for next year.
VP of Operations Report:
Field Permits are in with the town for the Spring Intramural and Travel programs as well as the Danvers Invitational Tournament. There is still significant concern about sufficient numbers of fields for all of Danvers Spring Sports. Meeting was to be held on Monday, March 12th.
Spring Schedule is finalized and there will be an 8 game season beginning on April 22nd through June 17th with Memorial Day Weekend off for the tournament.
U6 Fundamentals will begin on Saturday April 21st through June 17th.
Quotes for equipment for soccer balls and nets are managed by Ernie Dion.
VP of Administration Report:
G License - DYS will hold a G License course on Tuesday, March 20th
from 6pm- 10pm. Contact Kevin Burge if interested (DYSKevinB@AOL.COM).
A letter has been sent to all intramural coaches - Spring Coaches Meeting will be held April 10th at 7:30pm at the DHS Cafeteria.
All New England Coaches Clinic - Anyone wanting to attend the ANECC at Soccer
Etc on Friday Evening, March 23rd and Saturday, March 24th should contact Kevin Burge at DYSKevinB@AOL.COM.
Player Development: Working on the following:
Intramural focus on coaches passing, position and possession footwork!
Summer session U-10 Seniors and U-12 Juniors to play 2ce a week at Plains Park
Travel Game evaluations to be done by professional with feedback to coach & team
Skills Competition Dribble, Pass and Shoot!!
U-16 DYS female player to play soccer in Australia will report back in the fall!
ITC:
Parents and Coaches are welcomed to join the ITC committee your input counts!
10 teams have been formed 1 U8 girls, 2 U8 boys, 3 U10 girls, 4 U10 boys teams have been formed and players will be called this week.
The 10th Annual Danvers Invitational Tournament:

There is going to be a hotel crunch this year as the Sheraton Ferncroft, our host hotel for eight years, is not available- all area hotels are full.
