Minutes of the Danvers Youth Soccer June Board Meeting

June 4, 2008

 

Attending:   David Tye, Diane MacInnis, Maureen Merritt, Sharon Pollock, Dave Kamens, Bob Gilmore, Jeff Chambers, Meghan Chambers, Bob Gabel, Loren Rocker, Patty Powers

 

11 people attended the meeting. (The quorum for an official meeting was present, but the quorum to hold votes was not met.)

 

The meeting was called to order by President David Tye at 8:06 PM. 

 

Registrar’s Report- Dianne MacInnis

Jeff and Dianne MacInnis attended the Sports Pilot (the online registration program) presentation.  The cost will be approximately $5.00 per registration.  Dianne would like to go forward with Sports Pilot as soon as possible.  Because we did not have a quorum, President Dave Tye will send out an email asking board members to vote on approving adopting the Sports Pilot software system.

 

Secretary’s Report - Maureen Merritt

May, 2008 BOD minutes have been posted on website.  We will vote on approval at our next meeting.

 

President’s report- David Tye                

Dave introduced Meghan Chambers, who is interested in becoming a board member.  The division winners from the DIT have been invited to take part in one of several Night of Champion festivities being held at the New England Revolution and will receive a discounted ticket rate at the game.  The Boston Breakers have offered to sponsor a BBQ for DYS (Budget is $250).   Dave read a very nice thank you note from Jeff Chambers.  Jeff thanked the board for the flowers that we sent and for all the support that he received with the recent passing of his father.

 

Treasurer’s Report – Sharon Pollock

May, 2008 treasurer’s report was presented.  We will vote on approval at our next meeting.

 

VP Administration Report – Jeff MacInnis

Not present.

 

VP Operations Report – Frank Missett

Not present

 

Travel Director’s Report– Dave Kamens

The next tryout is for Girls on Sunday, June 8th.  Team formation will need to be completed in time to be submitted to Essex County by July 8th.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

 

Uniforms– Loren Rocker-no report

 

Danvers Invitational– Jeff Chambers

There were a lot of nice comments from participants of the DIT.  Volunteer numbers were low with quite a few no-shows as well.

 

Scholarships- Janet Gargan

Not present.

 

DSSSFestival -Jeff Chambers-no report

Permits need to be filed with the town of Danvers.  Jeff Chambers, Jeff MacInnis and Janet Gargan will serve as directors again this year.  Speak to Jeff C. if you would be willing to volunteer this year.

 

Social– Sharon Pollock-no report

 

Pictures- Maureen Merritt- no report

 

Touchline– Bob Gilmore-no report

 

New Business

 

North Shore Cancer Walk

After many years of being part of the set-up crew, Tom Conway along with his family, will be walking in the 6.2 mile Cancer Walk this year.  The board discussed making a donation towards Tom’s fundraising efforts.  The sentiment of those present was to donate $1,000.  David will send this out to the board as an email vote, as well.  Best wishes to Tom and his family.

 

Boston Breakers

They are looking for a commitment from DYS in regards to the seat categories that we would prefer.

 

The July and August  BOD meetings will be combined.  The time and date are TBD.  Check the calendar and website.  BOD meetings are usually held the first Wednesday of each month.
