Minutes of the Danvers Youth Soccer
December Board Meeting
January 5, 2005
Attending: Neal Hovey, Bruce Ocko, Brett Amico, Tom Conway, David Tye,
Bob Gabel, Jeff MacInnis, David Kamens, Jeff Chambers, John Barrows,
Janet Gargan, Rob Lebel, Tom McNulty, Loren Rocker, Bob Gilbert.
15 people attended the meeting.
The meeting was called to order at 8:00 pm
Secretary's Report
Several changes were requested to the Dec. minutes: Meeting ended
at 10:45 pm and MYSA fee increases are a pass-on from increases in
USYSA fees.
MYSA AGM will happen on Feb. 13th at the Best Western in Marlboro,
the Workshop on the 12th. Volunteers are needed to carry the DYS votes
at the AGM. Contact Neal Hovey if interested.
Sat. Feb 12th, 10 to noon, the townwide recreation signup will occur
at the Danvers HS Cafeteria.
“DYS Breaking News” feature
has been added to the website. Time-critical info can be immediately
posted by the secretary to the
website and accessed by clicking on the indicated link on the main
website.
4 season tickets to the 2005 Revolution were purchased by the secretary
on behalf of DYS.
Registrar’s
Report
All current DYS registrations have been successfully updated with
MYSA. We are still missing DOB for a number of coaches.
Travel Director’s
Report
25 Travel teams
(13 girls, 12 boys) were registered for the Spring ECYSA season.
Tryouts for Fall 05 select teams will be held May 13,
May 15 (“Super Sunday”) and May 20.
Committee Reports – Danvers
Invitational
First DIT meeting
to occur January 12, 7:00 pm at the Stop’n’Shop
at the Liberty Tree Mall. As always, the tournament needs volunteer
help. Suggestion was made to solicit members for the DIT and other
committees on the website.
Intramural Tournament Committee (ITC)
Signups for the Spring 05 tournament teams will be held at the town-wide
rec signup on Feb. 12 at DHS. Forms are available on the web as well.
The ITC will be placing an ad in the Danvers Herald for Spring signup.
Old Business
The number and nature of DYS committees was discussed. It was decided
that the following committees will be in operation for 2005:
Long Term Planning/By-laws: Tasked with investigating the long-range
plan of DYS for meeting its objectives, and recommending any by-law
changes necessary for that end.
Scholarship: Tasked with recommending the award of DYS scholarships
to specific individuals.
Touchline: Tasked with publishing a newsletter or calendar as seems
appropriate.
Social: Tasked with determining and organizing any DYS social events
in the coming year.
Pictures: Tasked with organizing the annual team and player pictures
in the Fall.
Travel: Tasked with assisting the travel director in managing the
travel program.
DIT: Tasked with organizing and running the Danvers Invitational Tournament.
Admin: Tasked with assisting the VP Admin in his duties, primarily
with running the intramural program.
Intramural Tournament (ITC): Tasked with organizing DYS teams for
the purpose of intramural play at the U10 level and below.
Fields and Equipment Committee: Tasked with assisting the VP Ops in
his duties, including maintenance and development of fields and management
of equipment.
Registration: Tasked with assisting the Registrar in the performance
of his duties.

Treasurer's Report
2004 Budget Report, Dec 2004 Budget Report, Danvers Invitational Report
were all given and approved. 2005 budget was reviewed line-by-line.
Motion was made and approved to adjust registration fees as needed
to balance the budget.
New Business
Next board meeting will be 8:00 pm, Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005 at the
Maple St. Church
Meeting adjourned at 10:38 pm.
