Minutes of the Danvers Youth Soccer December Board meeting December 3, 2008 Meeting

Attending: Jeff MacInnis, Diane MacInnis, John O’Connor, Tracy Smith, Megan Chambers, Jeff Chambers, Dave Kamens, Kevin Mallon, Connie Maguire (REM), Andrea Costa, Loren Rocker, Maureen Merritt, Al Gianetta, Brian Harrison, Frank Missett

Meeting called to order at 7:30 by President Jeff MacInnis

Secretary’s report :Rosa Kowalski

On the Board of Director’s list should addresses and phone numbers be posted on the web site? Jeff Macinnis’s response was to leave it up to each BOD for addresses

Next few weeks there will be a transition period

DYS has new by-laws

There are still three new open positions at large positions. He wants them to be open for awhile to see what we need. Manny Lopes does have two positions but one vote. Jeff Chambers does want members to be aware that Manny Lopes is acting as a U7 Boys director. That position is opened and not filled

Let membership decide what committees should be formed

John O’Connor suggested that we get a sign up at a specific time for this

Bob Gilmore – wants to do a blast email to let people know that any members can be on a committee.

Postings will be out on January for any positions

Example: long term committee

Policies and procedure need a chair person

Maureen submitted treasurer’s report

Maple Street Church has to be booked in January

Book the whole year 1^st Wed at 7:30

Mark Jones has designed a new look for the website send out to everyone, see if there are any objections by December 15, 2009

Next BOD meeting will be January 7, 2009

Jeff MacInnis makes a motion to accept the treasurer’s report; seconded by Jeff Chambers; all in favor, no opposed

VP of Intramural’s report: Sharon Pollock – no report

VP of Travel: Dave Kamens

Sports Pilot is up and running. Have had 4 people sign up and it works

Registration is starting 1/8/09. What fields- 1 or 2 to use? St. Johns Prep fields for soccer? Jeff Chambers said that there is a chance that U18 and U19 can go to 24 on a team for games and for tournaments there will be 18.

Connie Maguire from REM attended the meeting and conveyed to the board that parents were coming in to buy single replacement pieces (e.g. short/shirt/socks) and she does not have them in stock (she only has full kits in stock). After much discussion, Jeff MacInnis advised that this issue needed to be resolved offline by the Uniform Committee.

VP of Operations: Frank Missett

Slow time of the year except for vandalism reported at Gates Field. The shed door was damaged and he had to make some repairs. Police are aware and are patrolling.

Purchasing agent: Kevin Mallon

His goal as a purchasing agent is to learn from past and get better prices.

Safety Officer: Megan Chambers -no news to report

Needs to do a form if someone gets hurt for the player and coaches

Clinics to be setup to train coaches

Director Travel Coach/Player Development: John Barrows

His goal is to get 3 or 4 different groups to teach coaches and players to play better get coaches on board to improve players’ ability. Clubs aren’t set up to go to towns.

DIT Director: Jeff Chambers

Get application

Asked to raise entry fees $25 more

Jeff Chambers made a motion for the fees to be set at $325 for the U8 and U10, and $375 for U12 and above; Frank Missett seconds the motion; motion accepted.

Director of Publicity: Bob Gilmore

He wants to do a big drive for new players especially in the U16 and U17

By going thru the schools – writing letters, advertising thru Herald

Doing perhaps Mini-touchlines where it might come out twice a month-etc. more news

Intramural Tournament Director: Dianne MacInnis - no news to report

DSSSF: Jeff Chambers

Presented the check to the troops. Very appreciative

Uniforms: Loren Rocker

Need to form a uniform committee

Jeff Chamberlain made a comment that we need to register in Mass Youth Soccer $350 to register tournament 2009 D.I.T. Jeff MacInnis makes a motion to accept; Brian Harrison seconds; motion accepted.

VP of Travel: Dave Kamens

Needs to register teams U16 and up, estimated fee of $8,139

Jeff Chambers made a motion to approve up to $10K, Diane MacInnis seconds the motion; motion accepted.
