Committees are critical to the success of Danvers Youth Soccer. Each committee has specific goals to accomplish throughout the year. The chairman of the committee will hold meetings as necessary to accomplish such goals and will report the action at monthly board meetings bringing business to a vote as necessary.

DIT Committee - Chair: David Tye danversgunners@hotmail.com
This committee is responsible for planning, organizing and running our very successful Danvers Invitational Tournament over the Memorial Day weekend. It takes many dedicated volunteers to make this a success. Join this committee and help keep it a success. This committee meets about a half dozen times between January and May and is done for the rest of the year.

Fields Committee - Chair: Frank Missett dysfields@comcast.net
This committee is in need of volunteers to help give out the coach's soccer equipment before the season and help collect equipment after the season. The Fields committee also sets up the goals and nets before the season and the breaks equipment down for storage after the season. Volunteers also help with special events setup during the season.

Publicity Committee - Chair: Bob Gilmore bobmaljcm@yahoo.com
This committee will handle all external communications, promotions, recruitment of players to our organization and provide an interface with local media, as well as supporting the Secretary’s membership communication efforts. The Publicity Committee shall also coordinate the annual team and player pictures with a photography company that has been approved by the Board of Directors.

This committee is in charge of selecting and recommending league uniforms, vendors, and any other uniform related issues. In 2008 they were able to roll out a fantastic new travel uniform with a new logo and home and away game jerseys. In 2009 they will be looking into new uniforms for our Intramural program.

Each year Danvers Youth Soccer gives out scholarship money to deserving high school graduates. This committee reviews applications and selects scholarship recipients from those graduating seniors who apply and meet the scholarship criteria.

Sponsorship & Fundraising Committee - Chair: John O'Connor jo'connor@dolben.com
This newly formed committee will be the DYS liaison to our tournament and league sponsors. They will seek out new sponsors as required and contnue to research and implement new ways to generate revenue for DYS to subsidize unforeseen operating expenses and other short and long term goals of the association. Additionally they will be developing a DYS Branded apparel program that will allot our members to purchase such items as soccer backpacks (which were a big hit in the fall of 2008), team warm up suits, tee shirts, hats and much more form our online store at our new implemented registration website..

This committee is in charge of the future visions of the league. What should the league look like in 1 year, 3 years, 5 years? What should the structure of the league look like?. What types of program changes should we be looking at to fulfill our Objective. What types of capital improvements should we be planning? How will projects be funded?
