BOD minutes have been posted on website.
Brian Harrison made a motion to accept June, 2007 meeting minutes;
motion was seconded by Frank Missett, motion accepted.
President’s report- David Tye
New Uniforms – Committee has been formed to
obtain new uniforms for the 2008-2009 season.
Loren Rocker is chairing the committee.
DSSSF- Jeff MacInnis volunteered to co-chair. Neal Hovey will not be available during the
tournament weekend.
DIT Director – Longtime Director, Tom Conway
will be phasing out his involvement. His tremendous dedication to DYS and the
Danvers Invitational Tournament is remarkable.
Registrar’s Report- Dianne MacInnis
628 players
are registered so far for the fall versus 500 registrations at same time last
year. Implementation of late fee seems
to have helped considerably. Letters
and emails recently went out to players from last year who had yet to register
for the up coming season.
Treasurer’s Report – Sharon Pollock
June and July, 2007 treasurer’s reports were
accepted.
VP Administration Report – Jeff MacInnis
U10 will be changing to 6v6 format.
Intramural season begins Sept. 9th and ends Nov. 5th. Travel begins Sept. 8th and ends
Nov. 4th. No games will be
played Columbus Day weekend. Jeff
introduced the idea of skill patches.
The patches are purchased through MYSA and are awarded to players by
coaches for mastering skills such as juggling, penalty kicks, dribbling, etc.
VP Operations Report – Brian Harrison
The field
permits have been filed (Aug. 18th).
Gates looks really good. We will
need to use two fields at Plains. We
might possibly need to use Rotary. Brian
would like to change the field format at
Travel Director’s Report– Dave Kamens(not present)
$412 in fines/fees for the spring.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
DSSSF-Jeff Chambers- no report.
Intramural Tournament Committee– Jeff Chambers
There was
some confusion with players registering for tournaments.
Touchline– Bob Gilmore
Next issue will be coming out in
September. Brian Harrison made a motion
to increase Touchline budget to $2,000; seconded by Jeff Chambers; motion passed.
Scholarship–
DYS awarded
four $500 scholarships to High School Seniors.
Congratulations to the recipients:
Gardner Trask, Will Libby, Christopher Gabel and Michael Waring.
New
Business
Rino Vitolo, DYS coach and parent, asked to
speak on behalf of his daughter (U14 Jr.) who was placed on the “B” team. He believes that she was wrongly placed and
asked that she be moved up. Board
members explained the process that the board has in place in regards to player
movement. If a player’s team placement
is in question, various board members will watch the player over the course of
a few games and determine if movement is necessary.
