Minutes of the Danvers Youth Soccer Sept. Board Meeting

Attending: Neal Hovey, David Tye, Jeff MacInnis, Diane MacInnis, Sharon Pollock, Jeff Chambers, Janet Gargan, Loren Rocker, Bob Gilmore, Brett Amico, Andrea Costa, Tom McNulty, Brian Harrison.

13 people attended the meeting.

The meeting was called to order at 7:42 pm

President’s report

Donation of soccer nets to Essex Aggie. Cost is actually $3500 rather than $2000. Board voted to increase donation accordingly. Nets have been purchased and delivered, Brian Harrison and company put them together.

Essex Aggie fields still not completed. Field improvement requests will now go through Rec Dept. (Dave Mountain) who will deal with town maintenance. Procedure is now formalized and documented.

Thorpe School project. RFP has gone out. Committee will look at all designs, soccer will have some people on the committee.

AGM third Thursday in November. Proposed by-law changes discussed.

Special meeting had been held regarding club soccer, playing time, etc. Emails with recommendations from the board were sent out.

Lately we have had a lot of complaints about coaches. Complaints have involved playing time, player behavior. Most complaints at travel level. President and travel director have been aggressively dealing with these issues.

DIT activity reported. September activity reported.

Registrar’s Report

748 registered players for Fall, 779 last Fall. 100 registered adults.

VP Admin Report

Report via email. Positive feedback from Ham-Wen weekend. Will do it again on Oct. 26. MPS is actively recruiting players.

VP Ops Report

Gates first goal mouth is getting significant damage. Moving IM games to the back field.

Travel Director’s Report

Nov. 15. ECYSA AGM at MASCO HS. DYS has 3 votes.

Intramural Tournament Committee

No report.

Fall Tournament

Team registration is full at 42 teams. We also have teams on a waiting list.

Social

Dance will be held at Friday Nov. 3 at Jimmy’s Allenhurst. Reception at 6:00 pm, dinner at 7:00. Ticket cost is $25.

Next meeting: Wed. Nov 1, 7:30 pm at Maple St. Church.
