Registrar’s Report- Dianne MacInnis

Approximately 75-80% of Travel players are registered.  Dianne will be at tryouts on Friday to register any players who have yet to do so.  She will probably have another date in June for Intramural registrations.  The feedback on the registration reminder cards was good.  Dianne is continuing to look into new registration programs. (i.e.; Sports Pilot).  The Sports Pilot demonstration will be held at Sheraton Ferncroft on Monday, May 19th.

VP Administration ReportJeff MacInnis

The MPS clinics are going well.  The U7 clinics on Saturday mornings are also well attended.  The coaches’ shirts are being distributed to all coaches who have completed their MYSA CORI forms.

VP Operations Report Frank Missett

The town is going to fix holes in the utility field at Plains Park.  Only one field has had sod installed at Gates.  The field committee has been moving the nets off the field after games.  There have been mid-week games at Gates this week, so the goals have remained on the field.  Neal Hovey brought up the policy the town now has that requires written requests for field improvements.  Neal also mentioned that referees have had issues (warping and small appearance) with some size 5 balls.

Travel Director’s ReportDave Kamens

All but one of the cancelled games from week 1 have been re-scheduled.  Dave is considering the 2nd Sunday in June for a make-up date for the Girls’ rained out tryout.  Patty Powers is recruiting volunteers for tryouts.  Revolution tickets are going fast.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

UniformsLoren Rocker-no report

Pricing is $68 per uniform.  Loren asked the board how they feel about how we would like to proceed phasing in the new uniforms to the league.  The sentiment of the board was that we do not want to be in the “uniform business”, but rather we want to contract with a distributor with a physical store (ie; REM) where the players can be fitted and make their purchase.

Danvers InvitationalJeff Chambers

All the pieces are in place, except we need more site coordinators.

Scholarships- Janet Gargan

The committee has determined that there are 9 worthy candidates this year and have chosen to grant all these candidates scholarships using two different award levels as determined by the candidates’ qualifications.  In order to do so, the committee is asking the board for an additional $50 over the $4,000 that had been budgeted for scholarships.
