November,
2007 BOD minutes have been posted on website.
Jeff Chambers made a motion to accept November, 2007 meeting minutes;
motion was seconded by Brian Harrison, motion accepted.
President’s report- David Tye
The budget is the central agenda item for this meeting. All board members were asked to introduce
themselves. He reminded the board that
Tom Conway is looking to scale back his role in the DIT and that we are seeking
a person to oversee the planning of the tournament.
Registrar’s Report- Dianne MacInnis(not present)
Treasurer’s Report – Sharon Pollock
Treasurer presented November’s report. Jeff Chambers made a motion to accept
November’s Treasurer’s report; seconded by Bob Gilmore; motion passed. The budget for 2008 was presented and
discussed. Changes were discussed. We will vote to approve the budget at
January’s meeting once agreed upon changes have been made. However, two motions were passed for
expenditures that need to be approved before January.
Motion 1
Dave Tye made a motion to authorize the travel director to
spend $12,000 for the Essex County spring travel registration fees; seconded by
Bob Gilmore; motion passed.
Motion 2
Bob Gilmore made a motion to approve $3,500 that Essex Aggie
has requested for the use of their fields; seconded by Jeff Chambers. Vote passed 8-1.
VP Administration Report – Jeff MacInnis
Jeff will be looking for volunteers for an Intramural Committee.
VP Operations Report – Frank Missett
Everything
is closed down for the winter. The locks
have been changed at Plains. Frank and
John Barrows have the only keys. Year
end inventory has been taken.
Travel Director’s Report– Dave Kamens (Not present,Dave
Tye presented)
DYS has purchased 8 Revolution Tickets. The cost is $2,910 for the season. This will be posted on Touchline. Fines for the fall will net out to $287. As of now, spring registrations stand at: 13-U16B,
12-U16G, and 4-U18B. Unregistered players from last season: 58-U16G,
43-U16B, 29-U18G, 21-U18B, 4-U19G, and 7-U19B. Dave has requested that
Travel coaches email their players to advise them to register. Dave has been speaking with Phil and Ray from
Mass Premier in regards to clinics. Travel Registration meeting is January 9th.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
DSSSFestival-Jeff Chambers
The festival was a huge success while raising
and donating $7,000 to Operation Troop Support.
Intramural Tournament Committee–
The ITC
will need to reconvene to balance tournament teams for the spring.

Once the picture committee is formed, we will
investigate using another photography company.
Touchline– Bob Gilmore
Scholarships- Janet Gargan-not present.
She is willing to chair the scholarship committee again.
New
Business
Brian Harrison
reviewed a memo entitled: Estimates for Field Improvements as
Requested by DYS from Jack Schmidgall, Forestry & Grounds Supervisor. Essex Aggie is seeking $3,500 from DYS for
the use of their fields. The estimated
