Changes to the DYS U10 Program

U10 INTER TOWN SOCCER
Danvers Youth Soccer has added a new dimension to our U10 program for the 2009 Fall Season. We have partnered with Lynnfield Youth Soccer as a way to introduce our U10 players to a mini-version of travel soccer. All games will be played in Danvers and Lynnfield on Sunday afternoons. Some games will be played against Lynnfield teams while others will be played against Danvers teams. We hope that introducing some variety to the competition will create additional excitement for the players while they continue to enjoy the game and learn new skills in a non-results oriented environment.

Here is some general information about the Danvers/Lynnfield U10 program:

• Games will be scheduled on fields in both towns each Sunday
• Kick-offs will be at 12:30 and 2:15
• All Danvers home games will be refereed by USSF registered referees
• Games will be played in accordance with ECYSA U-10 rules except we will be using a 7v7 format for the fall instead of 6v6.
• Teams will be balanced in both age and ability to keep the competition equal
• Player development will continue to be the major focus at this age level
DYS is very excited about this new opportunity for our players. We feel it allows to continue to offer all the benefits of our tradition intown program, while providing a new and exciting opportunity for our players to thrive, improve, and enjoy the game of soccer.
